MISSION
BayStar Hotel Group acquires, repositions and sells lodging
properties throughout the Southeast. Our success is
measured by the satisfaction of our investors and our
ability to know how and when to sell properties to provide
maximum return on investment.
BAYSTAR HISTORY
BayStar Hotel Group, LLC develops, purchases, operates and
sells all types of hotels including both full service and
limited service hotels. BayStar’s primary focus is
primarily on premium “tier 1” limited service
franchised hotels.
Based in Tampa, the privately held company works with
properties throughout the southeastern United States. Our
management team has more than 40 years’ experience in
the hotel industry with Holiday Inn, the Wilson Companies
and similar brands. BayStar Hotel Group, LLC was formed in
2000 to develop and operate hotels.
BayStar’s first project was an 85-room Hampton Inn
that opened in January of 2001. BayStar purchased an
undeveloped parcel of land in a growing area of Northeast
Tampa, which had previously not been home any major hotel
flags. The hotel was an astounding success from the first
month of operation.
BayStar constructed its second hotel in the same general
area culminating with the opening of an 85 room Holiday Inn
Express & Suites in August of 2002.
BayStar has since sold both of its initial hotel projects,
but continues to identify and pursue hotel opportunities in
niche markets throughout Florida and the Southeastern
United States.
BayStar currently owns and operates four hotels located in
the Tampa, Orlando and Tallahassee markets in Florida.
These four hotels total over 500 rooms and include limited
service Hampton Inn, a Holiday Inn Express as well as a
full service Holiday Inn.
BayStar carefully researches potential hotel sites in
emerging growth areas using a number of criteria. We look
for an untapped need for hotel rooms and meeting rooms in
an area with a number of room and meeting space
demand-generators. These include a positive general
business climate, the presence of office buildings,
industrial parks, medical facilities, universities, or
government offices, along with neighborhoods to help feed
the weekend traffic.
In addition to developing and successfully operating our
own hotels, BayStar manages properties for other owners. We
also provide consulting services to hotel owners and
managers in the areas of accounting and human resources
systems, sales, marketing, and administration.
BayStar has proven that it has the experience, knowledge
and ability to develop build and operate hotels in both
good and bad economies. Its site selection, timing, and
industry knowledge have enabled BayStar to turn sizeable
return on investment for itself as well as its investors /
partners.
BayStar continues to actively pursue existing hotels and
developable sites throughout its target area.
