ABOUT BAYSTAR HOTEL GROUP
Based in Tampa, Florida, BayStar Hotel Group, LLC was
founded in 2000 by Developer
Ford
Smith, and
George Glover,
a life-long hotelier who had just left the Wilson World
chain to return to his hometown. A third partner,
Norman Giovenco, a Certified Public
Accountant and financial turn-around expert, joined the
company a few months later.
Its management team has worked with such prestigious brands
as Hilton Hotels, Hampton Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn, Best
Western, Residence Inns, Stouffer Hotels, Wilson Inns,
Wilson World Hotels, and most recently the hot, new Hotel
Indigo. In addition to developing or purchasing and
renovating hotels, BayStar Hotel Group manages hotels for
other owners and lenders and provides consulting services
to lenders, trustees and owner-investors. The firm offers
accounting, sales, marketing, administrative services, and
human resources systems as well as counsel.
EXCEPTIONAL STRATEGY AND EXECUTION
BayStar Hotel Group possesses the knowledge, experience and
ability to select prime locations and operate hotels in
both good and bad economies. The company carefully
researches sites to identify underserved or niche markets,
determine demand generators for hotel rooms and select the
right brand for the market.
Its first project, an 85-room Hampton Inn in northwest
Tampa was an astonishing success from its first month of
operation in January 2001 through its sale in March 2003.
This limited-service hotel completed its second year of
operation with 70% occupancy. Since then, BayStar has
developed and sold three similar properties, each for
substantial profits.
BayStar Hotel Group's hallmark is managing and operating
hotels that are guest-centric, immaculate and efficiently
managed. All BayStar Hotel Group Associates are empowered
to actively and empathetically listen to guest complaints,
own the request, and ensure immediate guest satisfaction.
Likewise, Associates - from the Chairman/CEO on down the
organizational chart - live the mantra, “If it's
broken…fix it. If it's dirty…clean it. If
it's on the ground…pick it up. Do it right the first
time.”
As a result, BayStar Hotels are a cut above the
competition.
