BAYSTAR HOTEL GROUP IS DEVELOPING HAMPTON INN ON
I-4
TAMPA (Updated 2/11/05 – originally released April
28, 2004) — BayStar Hotel Group, LLC plans to develop
and operate a Hampton Inn & Suites on Interstate 4,
near Exit 10. The hotel will sit on a 1.7-acre site near
Lazy Days RV Super Center, Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel
restaurants and Gator Ford in Tampa Gateway Park. Plans
call for breaking ground in June and opening the hotel
during the fall of 2005.
The four-story, $6.5 million Hampton Inn and Suites –
Tampa East will have 76 rooms, including at least 20
suites. Amenities will include a heated swimming pool, an
exercise facility, free in-room movies, free local calls
and complimentary Continental Breakfast. Room rates are
expected to range from $79 to $129 per night. Like all
BayStar Hotels, the Hampton welcomes pets.
“We expect mostly leisure travelers along with some
business road warriors,” said George Glover, chairman
and CEO of BayStar Hotel Group. “It will be
convenient for people servicing their RVs at Lazy Days,
visiting the fairgrounds or traveling on either I-75 or
I-4.”
Free high-speed Internet access; business services,
including copying and faxing; and two-line telephones in
each room will make the hotel attractive to business
travelers.
“The Hampton Inn will be a great addition to Tampa
Gateway Park,” said Fritz Archerd, the park’s
developer. “We have only one remaining site available
and are searching for a full-service restaurant to
complement the hotel and serve surrounding businesses and
local residents.”
