TIMOTHY TONKOVICH NEW GM OF HOLIDAY INN &
CONFERENCE CENTER IN LAKELAND
TAMPA (Oct. 29, 2007) — Timothy Tonkovich has been
named general manager of the Holiday Inn & Conference
Center in Lakeland, Fla. The 157-room property featuring a
restaurant and meeting rooms is the winter home for the
Detroit Tigers.
Most recently Tonkovich served as GM of the Holiday Inn
Express Hotel & Suites – Orlando International
Airport, which was owned at the time by the BayStar Hotel
Group. BayStar Hotel Group has a management contract with
the owners of the Lakeland Holiday Inn and placed Tonkovich
as its GM.
Tonkovich brings more than 12 years of hospitality
experience to the position. He has held management
positions with several hotels located throughout Fla., Ga.,
and Ohio, including AmeriSuites, Holiday Inns and Wilson
World hotels. Tonkovich attended Kent State University in
Kent, Ohio and Bowling Green State University in Bowling
Green, Ohio.
Lakeland’s Holiday Inn & Conference Center is
owned by the Bayshore Group, a real estate developer and
managed by BayStar Hotel Group, based in Tampa. The
privately held BayShore Hotel Group acquires, operates
and/or sells limited facility hotels throughout the
southeastern United States. The company also manages
properties for other owners and provides consulting
services.
